Bitcoin Suisse, a veteran European cryptocurrency provider, has released a bullish report forecasting Bitcoin’s price to surge beyond $180,000 and potentially reach $200,000 in 2025. The report also highlights the potential for an Ethereum staking ETF to outperform a Bitcoin ETF and projects a five-fold increase in the total market capitalization of altcoins in the first half of 2025.
According to Bitcoin Suisse’s Dynamic Cycle Risk and Dynamic On-Chain Cycle Risk models, as well as aggregated growth projections, Bitcoin is on track to achieve new all-time highs next year. While the cryptocurrency entered 2025 in a high-risk phase, the models didn’t signal an optimal time for profit-taking. Bitcoin consolidated in the $50,000-$60,000 range for a portion of the year before approaching $100,000, demonstrating a more stable price environment compared to earlier periods.
Despite reaching a nominal all-time high of approximately $73,000 earlier this year (still below the inflation-adjusted 2021 high of $67,000), on-chain risk metrics haven’t reached levels warranting profit-taking. Although long-term holders have exhibited some selling pressure, this has been more than offset by institutional buyers, particularly through Bitcoin ETFs.
The report emphasizes Bitcoin’s relatively small market share – a mere 0.2% of global financial assets – compared to traditional asset classes like real estate, bonds, and gold. However, growing institutional adoption, and the potential for nation-state adoption, particularly by major players like the United States, could significantly alter Bitcoin’s trajectory. Bitcoin Suisse suggests that if Bitcoin captures even 5% to 10% of the current $910 trillion global asset market, its price could explode to between $2.5 million and $5 million per BTC.
This scenario, while ambitious, is viewed as a stepping stone to even longer-term projections, such as Michael Saylor’s prediction of $13 million per Bitcoin by 2045. In the shorter term, increased adoption could trigger a “supercycle,” potentially driving valuations beyond $300,000 during this cycle, aligning with the upper limits of current trendline projections. The report also emphasizes the potential of Ethereum staking ETFs, suggesting they could surpass Bitcoin ETFs in performance. Furthermore, Bitcoin Suisse anticipates a significant surge in the altcoin market, with a projected five-fold increase in total market value during the first half of 2025.
