Speculation spread after Samson Mow, a prominent figure in the Bitcoin space, hinted at the potential reveal of Satoshi Nakamoto’s identity in the upcoming HBO documentary, Money Electric.

    Spoiler: It’s @adam3us.

Mow, who is set to appear in the documentary, made a surprising claim on social media, suggesting that the individual to be unveiled as Satoshi Nakamoto is none other than Adam Back, the CEO of Blockstream.

Bets on Adam Back being Satoshi Nakamoto surged to 76% following Mow’s tweet, temporarily taking the top spot on Polymarket. Although the percentage has since dropped to 12.3%.

However, Adam Back stated in his statement that he is not Satoshi Nakamoto and that Samson Mow was joking.

it's still not me. he's joking around.

Despite Back’s denial, his technical expertise and early involvement in Bitcoin’s creation have led many to speculate about his potential connection to the mysterious figure.

Adam Back, the CEO of Blockstream, is a prominent figure in the cryptocurrency space and has been linked to Bitcoin’s origins. Back is the inventor of Hashcash, a Proof of Work system that became a crucial component in Bitcoin’s consensus mechanism. Satoshi Nakamoto even referenced Hashcash in the Bitcoin white paper, highlighting its importance to the cryptocurrency’s design.

Back was among the earliest individuals Satoshi contacted during Bitcoin’s development. Despite his deep involvement in the early days of Bitcoin, Back has consistently denied being Nakamoto. Nevertheless, many in the crypto community speculate that his technical expertise and foundational influence on Bitcoin make him a plausible candidate.
